Frequently Asked
Questions
We often receive questions about our resources
via email.
Here are some answers to common queries:
Do you have copies of the Powassan News?
We have three very fragile copies of this newspaper from 1908, 1948 and
1963. The Almaguin News, which operates out of Burks Falls Ontario has
back issues of the Powassan News. Contact them at: 1-800-731-6397 or Click
Here to visit their website.
Do you have information about my Great Aunt, Mother,
Grandfather etc.?
We just might! But, due to limitations on staff time, we do not provide a
research service. If you are in the area we encourage you to come in for a
visit and browse through our collection. Most of our local history
resources are reference items only and cannot be loaned out. We also have
a micro-film reader and provide a loan service from the National and
Provincial Archives of Canada. The members of the Powassan Historical
Society, as well as Gladys Piper may be available to answer some
questions. |
